I’M A Celebrity South Africa will not be returning for another three years — despite the latest series proving such a sensation.

Millions watched Friday night’s bad-tempered live finale.

A show insider said: “The aim was never for it to be made or be on air in 2027, even though there may be an appetite for that right now.

“The aim was to deliver something as a special show that was on from time to time, not an annual revisit like the main I’m A Celebrity show.”

Almost 2.8million watched the finale, making it one of the most viewed shows of Friday night.

That figure will probably be much higher once catch-up figures are included, and ITV is pleased with the series’ ratings.

Meanwhile, the network has released details of the voting share for finalists.

Adam was on 51 per cent, on 32, on nine and on eight.

After being whittled down to three — Adam was on 58 per cent, Mo on 32 and Harry on ten.

I’m A Celebrity is expected to return later this year.
