Aloy Ejimakor, Consultant to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has encouraged Igbo leaders to take inspiration from former President Olusegun Obasanjo and visit the Biafra activist at the Sokoto Custodial Centre.

Ejimakor reminisced about how Obasanjo and Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka visited the Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Igboho, in the Benin Republic.

He pointed out that Obasanjo and Soyinka were not intimidated by the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a post on X, he stated: “Dear Igbo leaders: Stand up, be courageous, and visit Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Sokoto.

“Follow the example of Obasanjo, Soyinka, and other Yoruba leaders who visited Igboho in the Benin Republic.

“They did not fear Buhari because it was a just cause. To #FreeMNK is also a just cause, and it is urgent. Indeed.”

It is noteworthy that Justice James Omotosho of an Abuja Federal High Court sentenced Kanu to life imprisonment on charges related to terrorism.

After the conviction, Justice Omotosho mandated that the IPOB leader serve his sentence at the Sokoto Custodial Centre.

Since his arrival at the Sokoto Custodial Centre, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has paid him a visit.
