Activist lawyer, Maduabuchi Idam, on Tuesday said Fuji singer, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, aka KWAM 1, should be punished over the incident with ValueJet like Ms Comfort Emmanson.
Idam said the law should not be seen to favour the poor over the rich.
Last week, KWAM 1 had attempted to prevent a ValueJet aircraft from taxiing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja after he was prevented from boarding.
The incident between KWAM 1 and officials of the airline led to him bagging a six months flight ban.
A few days ago, an Ibom Air passenger, Emmanson was recorded to have assaulted an air hostess.
The incident led to Emmanson being arraigned and remanded in Kirikiri prison in Lagos while she was placed on the no-fly list for life.
However, Idam said KWAM 1’s action was punishable with a life imprisonment or fine of N25 million.
In a statement he signed, Idam said: “K1 De Ultimate a known ally to the President seized control of an Aircraft in the Abuja Airport- A serious offences punishable with life imprisonment or an option of fine of N 25,000,000.00.
“Yet, he was escorted home on a red carpet. He only managed to post a video apologising for his misdeeds days later.
“A certain comfort without affinity with Aso Rock had only a face-off with a cabin crew – a simple offence punishable with two years imprisonment, she has been sent to prison with a life ban from flying both locally and internationally.
“If K1 is not meted with the proper punishment for his offence, why should Comfort ?
“Laws must not see the poor and turn a blind when need to see the rich.”
