AS someone with poker-straight hair, let me tell you that finding the right products to get gorgeous, bouncy curls is no easy feat.

But no matter what I go for, it normally requires a LOT of heat, which, of course, damages the hair.

Unless you want to fork out ridiculously sky-high prices for something that is kinder on your locks, which isn’t always affordable.

So when I heard that Revlon had released a brand-new Easy Heat range that turns up the style whilst turning down the damage at a price of just £19.99 in Tesco stores, I knew I had to try it.

The hair-styling experts decided to launch the new range for those of us who colour our hair, but struggle to protect it while styling it.

It came after Revlon discovered that 75 per cent of women in Europe regularly colour their hair, but worry about maintaining the vibrant, healthy colour.

And they found that most of those women’s biggest concern was about the effects of repeated heat styling and heat damage.

Enter the brand new Easy Heat collection – created for colour-treated locks using pre-set temperatures depending on your type of hair and desired look.

I’ll admit, I’m prone to highlighting to give my blonde hair a little brightening lift. This, coupled with my poker straight locks, means I usually have to use plenty of heat to get a curl to last.

But I’ve found with some products that my hair almost smells a little burnt, and if I curl it too often over a few days, it quickly becomes dry and brittle.

So I was super excited to hear that the new range included a Precision Curler, which has an extra-long barrel, which promises to create shiny, frizz-free, long-lasting curls without damage.

A curler that works fast, minimises damage, gives a gorgeous style AND comes with an amazing price tag that doesn’t break the bank? Sign me up!

The new curler is exactly what I’ve been looking for, so I decided to try it to see how well it worked – and I wasn’t disappointed.

The first thing I instantly loved about the Easy Heat Precision Curler was the length of the barrel.

I have quite long hair, so sometimes when I start rolling it over a barrel, it only covers three-quarters of the area, and the section around my root stays flat and straight.

But this is not the case here – with a 160mm barrel, not only did I cover the full length, but because it was thinner, I was able to wrap more hair around it in a single use.

Plus, the barrel has ceramic tourmaline technology, which is a dream come true.

This emits negative ions that counteract the positive ions which are present in dry or damaged hair, resulting in shinier, softer, and more manageable hair with longer-lasting styles with less heat damage.

It’s usually found in straighteners rather than curlers – unless you don’t mind paying a fortune – making them better to use on the hair, so finally finding curlers that include it is an instant win.

The curler itself comes with five pre-set temperatures, ranging from 120C to 220C depending on what style you want to go for.

I tried two different heats to see what the results were – the 200C heat for classic curls, and 140C for soft curls/waves.

It was surprisingly easy to use, with the handle having a better grip than most curlers and was comfortable to hold and control.

For the 200C, I just locked in a section of the hair, rolled the barrel like any other set of tongs and held it for a few seconds to let it work its magic.

As soon as I let it go, a bouncy, springy curl rolled out.

It didn’t take long at all to curl all my hair either – easily less than half the time it would have taken me whilst using other tongs because I didn’t have to go back over missed areas around the root.

The results were absolutely incredible – my hair had gorgeous, defined curls, and after brushing it out slightly, I was ready to go.

I also got so many compliments on my hair, with many people noticing I had curled it differently because it had an extra bounce.

I’ve never felt better or confident – so much so that I used this setting when I went to pick up my wedding dress!

What I also loved about it is that the curls lasted for DAYS.

For two days after the first curl, all I had to do was give it a quick brush, and it turned from classic defied curls to bouncy waves with no effort or touch-ups required.

Now, onto the looser, 140C soft curl – I love a beach wave look, and I felt like this was exactly what I got.

More in the Easy Heat collection

Another product in Revlon's Easy Heat collection is the brand new Hair Dryer - which is also just £19.99.

The beauty brand’s everyday essential delivers 2,000 watts for fast drying, which is also super kind to coloured hair.

Like the Precision Curler, the hairdryer has a ceramic coating.

Only this time, it helps preserve moisture and evenly distribute heat, which reduces damage as it dries the hair.

And it’s tourmaline ionic technology fights frizz and enhances shine, making it perfect for colour-treated hair.

The gentle yet powerful product has three heat settings and two speed settings.

Which means you can customise the temperature and airflow with ease.

And with its lightweight design, it weighs only 500g, making it comfortable and easy to handle during styling.

While it didn’t last as long, it was a gorgeous, soft curl that was so gentle and looked effortless whilst feeling weightless.

It’s the perfect style if you want a soft look for a day or night, and even with the minimal heat, it didn’t require a lot of hairspray.

Considering what you’re getting, it’s more than worth picking up, and it also makes for the perfect gift for the special woman in your life.

I actually can’t believe the quality of what you’re getting with Revlon’s Easy Heat collection for just £19.99!

This has completely revolutionised the way I curl my hair now, and my hair is thanking me for it.

I actually can’t wait to take it on holiday with me as well because it has dual voltage from 120-140V, meaning it automatically adjusts to wherever you go.

This is one of the best products I’ve used to curl my hair, and I’m low-key gutted that it’s only just come out over the last few months.

It is a complete game-changer, so if you’re thinking of picking it up, then don’t hesitate – my hair has never felt, or looked, better!
