President Bola Tinubu has asserted that he never pressured his wife to convert to Islam.
Tinubu made this clarification during the funeral service for the mother of the All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, in Jos, Plateau State.
The President emphasized that he was born a Muslim and is married to a pastor, the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.
“Hatred is not an option for us,” Tinubu remarked, reflecting on how he inherited Islam from his parents but never sought to convert his wife, who prays for him without any conflict.
“I believe in the freedom of religion; we are praying to the same God,” he added.
Tinubu further encouraged Nigerians to prioritize love for one another above religious differences.
