I can’t sit in room where one man dictates to adults – Dele Momodu rules out defection

Published on June 11, 2025 at 08:53 AM

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dele Momodu, has ruled out the possibility of joining the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Speaking in an interview on Channels TV on Wednesday, Momodu, a two-time presidential aspirant, said that despite the crisis in the main opposition party, he will never join the APC.

He accused the leadership of the APC of allowing autocracy to prevail, stating that he cannot sit in a room “where one man will dictate to able-bodied adults.”;

He said, “I definitely won’t join the APC. That one is out of the question. If I wanted to join the APC, I wouldn’t be talking to you the way I am this morning.

“I cannot sit in a room where one man will dictate to able-bodied adults who have worked all their lives and say that he is the lord of the manor.”;

Momodu had, on Tuesday, declared that only a coalition of political parties can wrest power from President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

He also stated that his soul has already left the PDP, while only his body remains in the party.
