Renowned Nigerian comedian, Destalker, has disclosed that prior to his career in comedy, he attempted internet fraud but was unsuccessful.

In a recent episode of the In-house Gist podcast, the comedian shared that the friend who introduced him to internet fraud has since become a Christian cleric.

He elaborated that his failure in internet fraud stemmed from his kindhearted nature, which made it difficult for him to deceive others.

“Before I left Enugu, I attempted internet fraud with a friend who is now a pastor, but I wasn’t successful. We would book night sessions at a cyber café for N250. I couldn’t afford it at the time, so my friend always covered the costs. He is now a prominent pastor, Rev. Nelson Umeh.

“While he was searching for victims to scam online, I was busy chatting with my family, friends, and former classmates from Ughelli on Facebook. After that, I would fall asleep. There’s no need to overspend when you’re on the wrong path…

“Today, however, things have changed. Internet fraud was never meant to be my destiny. I can’t defraud anyone because of my kindhearted nature. All the challenges I faced have made me so confident that nothing can prevent me from reaching my goals.

“There were some comedians who claimed that without them, I wouldn’t perform at certain shows, and I told them that I would succeed even without performing there. And I did. Some of those shows have since faded away, and many of those comedians are no longer relevant,” Destalker stated.
