The three books in the series, The Hunger Games, 2009’s Catching Fire and 2010’s Mockingjay, were turned into five blockbuster movies starring Jennifer Lawrence as heroine Katniss   Everdeen.

In 2025, we reported how the actress would for the sixth movie, The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping, due to hit screens in November.

The movie is a follow-up to 2023’s prequel The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes, which starred Rachel Zegler.

It is thought her character Katniss will appear in a flash-forward scene in the film.

Speaking to Variety in 2023, Jennifer admitted she would not think twice about reprising the role that made her a household name.

She said: “If Katniss ever could come back into my life — 100 per cent.”

Sunrise On The Reaping will tell the story of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.

It is set to centre on a young Haymitch, originally played by and now to be portrayed by Joseph Zada.

Haymitch later becomes the Hunger Games mentor to Katniss and Peeta.

The movies are set in a dystopian future where game contestants are forced to kill each other for entertainment.
