Who is Hugo from The Traitors?

Hugo is a 51-year-old barrister from London, despite being born in Cardiff.

When asked his reasoning behind joining the show, he said: “I’m obsessed with – I think I’ve seen every episode in the English language, UK, US, Australia and New Zealand.

“It’s such a fascinating game, and what really gets me is watching people around the Round Table and how wrong they get it.”

As revealed in the first episode, the 51-year-old is a Faithful – unless he is the Secret Traitor, a new addition to the current series whose identity is left a mystery.

In terms of his game plan to win the series, Hugo said: “I’m going to hide in plain sight. I’m going to be myself and I’m going to be quite out there telling stories, telling jokes and singing.

“I suppose I’ll be one of the older ones at 51, so I’m going to be very positive and try keep things upbeat and happy.”

Using his skills as a , Hugo believes he has developed a good sense as to whether or not someone is lying.

He said: “People have tells, and they give it away. Because we’re all basically good human beings, subconsciously, if you lie, you have an itch on your face sometimes, and you try to get rid of it because you’ve just lied.

“So, touching the face is a classic one, not looking people straight in the eye is another.”
