The balloon continued to crash land with the two other women still clinging to the basket.

They later miraculously stepped out without serious injury after making an emergency landing on the ground in the centre of Zielona Góra, western .

The three women had been flying for an hour and a half from Lubuskie Region Aero Club when they got into trouble.

Investigations are now underway by Polish and the country’s State Commission for Aircraft Accident .

Police spokesperson Małgorzata Stanisławska said: “As a result of the accident, a 28-year-old woman died after falling from the basket onto the roof of one of the buildings.

The basket lay on a street next to a bus, with the torn Czech-made balloon tangled in the branches of a tree above.

Jagoda was an instructor who spoke about the “silence and calm” on balloon flights.

“You’re left alone with your thoughts. It’s an incredible feeling,” she previously said.

“The adrenaline is there, of course, but above all, you just focus on getting things done.”

Last year, she was crowned Polish Women’s Champion at the 11th Women’s Ballooning Championships in Nałęczów.

The club said in a statement: “We will remember Jagoda as a warm and always smiling person, full of passion and a love for flying.”
