STAR OF LADY M (3.05 Ayr, nap)

The David O’Meara speedster came home a convincing winner of this race 12 months ago. She ran just once more last season with a solid effort in a Dundalk Group 3 before calling time on the campaign.O’Meara has been patient with his galloping grey this year and we saw her for the first time at Beverley 20 days ago. That was a good effort considering she was coming back from 10 months on the sidelines. Being bumped coming out of the stalls wasn’t ideal but she picked up well enough to grab a place on the podium. That should see her spot-on for fitness and we know this course and distance is right up her street. The ground is softer than 12 months ago but she handles cut and O’Meara has his horses in excellent form this Autumn.

LOOK TO THE STARS (3.30 Newbury, nb)

This talented Godolphin two-year-old got off the mark with a gritty success at Kempton last time. He was headed inside the final furlong but fought back strongly to get up near the line. That built nicely on a couple of promising efforts on turf at Sandown and Haydock where he was runner-up each time. William Buick stays on board and this move up to a mile should bring plenty of improvement.

MAGIC BOX (1.28 Ayr, treble)

Has won two of his past three and had lots in hand at Carlisle when last seen in July. He likes some cut in the ground and even a 7lb rise in the weights shouldn’t put the brakes on.

FRENCH AFFAIR (2.55 Newbury)

Completes the Lucky 15. He has been consistent and went down in a photo at Salisbury last time. He enjoys this trip with some cut in the ground.
