A DISABLED pensioner was found dead in her own home with a naked Sudanese migrant allegedly lying on top of her.

Marie-Louise, 93, was discovered naked on her bathroom floor after cops stormed the house in Toulouse, southern , on Sunday.

The bedridden pensioner, who had been unable to move by herself for months following a stroke, is suspected of having been sexually assaulted and killed.

A 34-year-old homeless Sudanese national was arrested at the scene, while local reports described him as an undocumented migrant.

The Toulouse prosecutor’s office said an autopsy found Marie-Louise had suffered “injuries suggestive of sexual violence” and “traumatic neck injuries consistent with asphyxiation.”

The suspect is due to be brought before a judge on Tuesday to face formal investigation for murder preceded or followed by rape.

Prosecutors have asked for him to be remanded in custody.

The horror unfolded at around 5pm on Sunday in the Minimes district, where Marie-Louise had lived for decades and was affectionately known by some as Juliette.

Neighbours were first alerted by chilling screams, insults and the sounds of blows coming from the house.

One recalled: “We could hear it so clearly that we thought he was right there; it didn’t occur to us that it could be coming from inside the house. We heard shouts, insults – ‘fuck your mother’ – and then sounds of blows. We never could have imagined…”

raced to the property but reportedly found the front door locked from the inside.

Even a spare set of keys provided by neighbours could not get them in.

Officers then circled around the property and gained entry through the back of the house where they spotted large amounts of blood on the floor and the mattress.

Yet the pensioner was nowhere to be seen.

Officers then pushed open the bathroom door and discovered Marie-Louise naked and motionless on the floor.

The suspect, also completely naked, was allegedly lying on top of her.

He was described as heavily intoxicated and in a dazed state before a fierce struggle erupted as police tried to arrest him.

One officer was injured as the suspect was eventually subdued and hauled into custody.

Prosecutors said the man had a breath alcohol reading of 0.92mg per litre, while toxicology tests are under way to establish whether he had also taken .

Investigators are now piecing together the pensioner’s final terrifying moments.

Initial findings indicate Marie-Louise suffered suspected sexual violence as well as neck trauma consistent with asphyxiation, according to prosecutors.

Earlier reports said she was also suspected of having been beaten and moved between rooms inside the house.

“She was defenceless,” stunned neighbours said, describing Marie Louise’s particular vulnerability following difficulties.

Her front door was reportedly often left unlocked so carers and relatives who looked after her could easily come and go.

Investigators are examining how the suspect entered the property and whether he knew Marie-Louise or was aware of her vulnerable condition.

Reports initially described the homeless Sudanese national as known to police over theft and violent offences involving a weapon, including an arrest in Toulouse during the .

However, the Toulouse prosecutor’s office subsequently described the 34-year-old as having no prior criminal record.

The horrifying killing has sent shockwaves through the close-knit neighbourhood, where residents had helped look after Marie-Louise and knew her as a familiar face for decades.

“She was the neighborhood grandmother,” one devastated neighbour said.

“It’s awful, she saw me born, we did her shopping for her,” added a man in his thirties who lives next door.

Another neighbour said: “When it happens to you, to someone you know… It’s horrific.”

Marie-Louise’s meal delivery driver returned to her home on Monday morning and was reportedly stunned to discover she was dead.

Flowers have since piled up outside the gate as grieving neighbours remember the elderly woman they had watched over for years.

“She was already disabled, she didn’t need to end her days like this…” a friend said.
