Police have apprehended two individuals following a series of stabbings on a train.

Authorities rushed to the scene on a train en route to Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Two arrests have been made in connection with the incident on the North Eastern Railway (LNER) train.

Cambridgeshire police were also called to assist after several individuals were attacked with knives.

LNER has announced that “disruption is expected” until the end of the day due to this alarming event.

The British Transport Police released a comprehensive statement: “We are currently responding to an incident on a train heading to Huntingdon, where multiple individuals have been stabbed.

“Officers are present alongside @CambsCops, and two individuals have been taken into custody.

“Further updates will be provided here.”

LNER stated on X, formerly Twitter: “Due to emergency services managing an incident at Huntingdon, all lines are blocked.

“Train services traveling through this station may face delays. Disruption is anticipated until the end of the day.

“Please check your travel plans before you leave.”
