EIGHT people have been injured – and five others are still missing – after an inferno tore through an apartment building in Switzerland.

The fire in the eastern town of Thusis “entirely burned” the block that housed a restaurant and residential flats, police for the canton of Grisons said in a statement.

“The stairwell collapsed, so the roof of the building had to be opened with a crane,” it said.
