She beamed in every photo, clearly treasuring her time with her son.

Alongside the sweet photos, Daniel shared an emotional statement in the post’s caption that read: “This is the first Mother’s Day in my entire 68-year life that my mother isn’t here.

“Cynthia Stern passed away a few months ago here in our guest house, where she had lived for the last eight years.

“I am incredibly blessed to have lived my life with her by my side, from my first breath until her last, and the hole she has left in all of our lives will last forever.”

Daniel continued to describe his mother to his followers, detailing: “She was a nursery school teacher, devoting her life to nurturing little people and helping them grow into loving, smart and independent big people.

“She was the most honest and direct person you could ever know, a truth-teller. She lived her life in perfect balance – a truly humble person but never lacking in self-confidence, completely accepting of people as they are and completely accepting of herself as well, always ready to laugh and always ready to have a serious conversation, fiercely independent but unafraid to ask for help when she needed it, driven to be successful but still content with where she was, giving her love freely and receiving love just as freely.”

The star finished the caption off by sharing where his mother has been buried and wishing her a happy Mother’s Day.

He wrote “We buried her ashes on our farm, under a tree next to the tree where we buried my dad ashes. I love that their roots will now intertwine and they will rest in peace together forever.

“I walk by her tree every day where she silently continues to be my teacher, encouraging me to be as loving, humble, honest, confident, successful and content as is humanly possible.

“Here is wishing you all a Happy Mother’s Day. It might seem a bit commercial but it might in fact be the most important holiday of the year.

“You certainly don’t need me or Hallmark to tell you how deeply your mother has influenced your life but I’m glad to be reminded to take the day to reflect on all of the incredible women in the world who devote their lives to doing everything they can to make us the best possible versions of who we are.

“Here’s to my mom, Cynthia Stern! I am forever yours!”

One user said: “What a beautiful tribute, Daniel. May her memory be a blessing.”

A second shared: “Rip to your beautiful mom.”

A third added: “Thank you Daniel. This was the first post on my feed this morning. I called my mom right away.”
