Renowned gospel artist Nathaniel Bassey has shared the painful experience of his wife enduring five miscarriages, including one ectopic pregnancy.

Bassey made this disclosure in the early hours of Friday while leading the current edition of the “Hallelujah Challenge.”

Despite conducting the online worship session, he mentioned that he would head directly to his wife's bedside at the hospital where she was receiving care.

The October 2025 edition of the Hallelujah Challenge will take place over 25 days, from October 7 to 31, with each session beginning at 11:59 PM.

“As ministers and men of God, we have encountered numerous stories. People often come to me and say, ‘Pastor Nathaniel, you don’t understand.’”

“I must ask my wife for forgiveness. There were times during the Hallelujah Challenge when we were experiencing a miscarriage, and no one was aware. I would still come online to worship and celebrate.”

“A few years ago, she was hospitalized due to an ectopic pregnancy. I would leave to lead praise and worship online, then return to the hospital, where the nurses would tell me, ‘It was powerful tonight.’ This was not just one, two, three, or four pregnancies, but five,” he shared.

Pastor Nathaniel Bassey has been married to Sarah since 2013.
