A HAIR product has been urgently recalled as the beauty item poses a “high microbiological risk”.

When left over time, the product may lead to the growth of a deadly bacteria.

A batch of the Beauty Pie Super Healthy Hair Magic Smoothing Head Shield Spray has been urgently as the product could pose a serious risk.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards issued a recall notice for the haircare product as a specific batch “presents a microbiological risk”.

Testing on the product indicated that the spray loses efficacy over time, which may lead to the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

The notice reads that “this microbial may pose a risk to consumers, particularly to those who are immunocompromised”.

As a result, the product does not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009.

For concerned their product may be part of the recall notice, the following information will identify the specific batch.

The barcode for the product is 5060760191986 and the SKU number is 191986.

The batch number of the specific batch included in the recall notice is 3094A.

Described as a “coconut water-based hair product”, the affected batch was sold between December 11, 2024, and May 6, 2026.

The product was sold via Beauty Pie and also on Amazon.

The product has been withdrawn from the market and affected users have been contacted directly by Beauty Pie Limited.

The Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a type of bacteria that tends to exist in the environment, such as in water, plants and soil.

It can also appear in moist or wet environments like bathtubs or sinks.

The bacteria can cause an infection, which can pose particularly serious risks to those with a weakened immune system.
