The 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi has enjoined Nigerian youths to guard their votes deligently during the 2027 general elections.

Obi made the call while addressing students of Dominican University in Ibadan on Monday.

The former governor of Anambra State said it is the youths who will guard their votes and not him if they are ready for positive changes in the country.

Obi noted that development does not come with tribe or race but with knowledge.

The former governor of Anambra State, lamented that Nigeria is still battling to provide basic amenities for the citizens despite the vast resources the country has been endowed with.

He added that the era of relying on international “globalization” has ended, maintaining that a new Nigeria that all citizens will be proud of is possible.

He enjoined the youths to guard their votes diligently during the 2027 general elections.

“Development doesn’t come with tribe; it comes with knowledge. Competent leadership is the only way to turn these vast resources into wealth.

“It is you that will protect your vote, not me. It is our own country, but it is your future that is at stake. New Nigeria” is a necessity that must begin within the classroom,” Obi said

The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Jacinta Opara, in his reaction, noted that the visit has significantly boosted the spirit of both the students and staff.
