Russian dictator Vladimir Putin made a surprising announcement today, stating that he is “in love.”
Critics suggest that the question was prearranged during Putin’s annual end-of-year Q&A session, especially given the divorced leader's reputation for maintaining privacy about his personal life.

In an interview with 360° outlet presenter Regina Orekhova, the 73-year-old leader responded to her question about who had captured his heart, simply saying: “Yes.”
“That addresses the final part of your question,” he added.
Without providing further details, the Russian public was left to wonder if he was alluding to the former Soviet Union’s “most flexible woman” – Alina Kabaeva.
The 42-year-old is an Olympic gold medalist in rhythmic gymnastics and has two children with Putin, who are believed to use pseudonyms – Ivan Spirodonov, 10, and his brother Vladimir Spirodonov, six.
Although the leader never discusses them, Alina and their two sons are thought to reside somewhere in Russia.
Various theories have emerged regarding the timing of the question.
One theory suggests he might be preparing to reveal a secret family after years of keeping them hidden from his nation’s 145 million citizens.
Others believe the stern-faced leader is attempting to soften his image by admitting to his people that he is capable of love.
Despite his confession, he has been accused of infidelity, allegedly having cheated on Kabaeva with an underage beauty pageant contestant when he was 58.
This allegation arose after reports surfaced about her involvement with Putin following her appearance in a suggestive calendar celebrating his birthday.
The affair reportedly occurred while Kabaeva was away, with Kharcheva being smuggled into the dictator’s residence.
Russian investigative journalists made startling allegations earlier this year, claiming she was initially seduced and then began visiting him regularly.
“The girl visited [Putin] frequently — these visits naturally coincided with Alina Kabaeva's absences, who was by then already his primary partner,” Proekt reported.
“His formal wife, Lyudmila, was no longer living with the prime minister.”
In 2014, Putin and his former wife Lyudmila divorced after having two daughters together – Maria, now 40, and Katerina, 39.
Kharcheva’s visits were said to occur approximately every two weeks.
