Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has mourned the death of his aide, Sadiq Gentle, who died from injuries sustained in a machete attack by suspected hoodlums.

Gentle, a Senior Special Reporter with the Ministry of History and Culture, passed away on Thursday, at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital following the attack at his residence on Sunday night.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature DawakinTofa, the governor described Gentle as a dedicated media professional whose killing was a tragedy.

“The news of Malam Sadiq Gentle’s death hit me with deep sadness and anguish. He was a devoted public servant and a man of peace and integrity,” Yusuf said.

He condemned the murder as “heinous, barbaric, and utterly unacceptable,” and extended condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, and colleagues.

Governor Yusuf directed security agencies to fish out the perpetrators and ensure they face justice.
