Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State on Friday approved the appointment of seven officials into key positions across strategic government agencies, as part of the ongoing efforts to enhance governance and service delivery.
The appointments were contained in a statement issued by the Director-General, Media and Publicity of the Kano Government House, Sunusi Bature.
The newly appointed officials included Dr. Bashir Muzakkar as Director-General, Kano State Information and Communication Technologies Development Agency.
Until his appointment, Muzakkar was the Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital and Creative Economy.
Kabiru Dakata was also named Director-General, State Advert and Signage Agency, while Dr. Fatima Abubakar was appointed Director-General, State Social Protection Agency. She previously served as Special Adviser on Enlightenment and Social Mobilisation.
Others were: Isyaku Umar-Kwa, Deputy Managing Director of the State Housing Corporation; Hamisu Danzaki, Executive Secretary, State Scholarship Board; and Isma’il Nasarawa, Provost, Anti-Corruption Institute.
Mohammed Gabasawa was also appointed Commandant of the Corporate Security Institute.
Yusuf expressed confidence in the capacity and commitment of the new appointees to support his administration’s development agenda and reforms across key sectors of the state.
