The Taraba State Government has once again commended the Nigerian Army for its professionalism and operational effectiveness, particularly the leadership and troops of Headquarters 6 Brigade, for their role in maintaining peace and security across the state.

The commendation was delivered by Governor Agbu Kefas through his Chief of Staff, Jeji Williams, during the 2025 West African Social Activities (WASA) celebration of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army.

In his address, the governor praised the Brigade Commander and soldiers for their sacrifices and dedication, noting that their efforts have contributed significantly to the improved security situation in Taraba State.

He highlighted that the current relative peace in the state is the result of strong collaboration between the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, operating under a shared vision of stability.

Governor Kefas also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting security agencies through continued collaboration, strategic partnerships, and institutional backing.

He stated that the government would provide the necessary support to enable security agencies to discharge their constitutional responsibilities effectively and urged the troops of 6 Brigade to remain disciplined, professional, and respectful of human rights and the rule of law.

Earlier, the Commander of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, and Sector 3 Commander of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, described WASA as a key tradition of the Nigerian Army, aimed at fostering unity, cohesion, and morale among officers, soldiers, and their families.

He added that the celebration provides personnel with an opportunity to relax from operational duties, reconnect with their cultural heritage, and reflect on achievements while drawing motivation for future tasks.
