Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has enacted the 2026 Appropriation and Finance Bills following legislative review.

Buni, who signed the bills on Tuesday, praised and expressed gratitude to the members of the Yobe State House of Assembly for their dedication and reaffirmed their commitment to the people of the state through the prompt passage of the bills after thorough and constructive examination.

He stated that this clearly indicates that both the Executive and Legislative branches of government in the state are collaborating effectively, with a shared vision, understanding, and dedication to serving the people more efficiently.

“As you may recall, I presented a budget of five hundred and fifteen billion, five hundred and eighty-three million naira only (N515,583,000,000) for the 2026 appropriation and finance bills.

“This amount has been slightly modified to five hundred and fifteen billion, five hundred and thirty-two million naira (N515,532,000,000), reflecting a minor reduction in capital expenditure and an increase in funding for recurrent services.

“The total allocation for capital programs is now two hundred and ninety-one billion, nine hundred and three million, six hundred and fifty thousand naira (N291,903,650,000) or 62 percent, while two hundred and twenty-three billion, six hundred and twenty-eight million, three hundred and fifty thousand naira (N223,628,350,000) or 38 percent is designated for recurrent services.

“Some internal adjustments were made regarding the allocations for certain ministries, departments, and agencies,” he mentioned.
