The racecourse has now announced that the pull-up area has become too slippery after a “significant” amount of rain.
That means the 16:30 and the 17:05 handicaps have been axed.
Goodwood said: “We regret to inform you, following a significant amount of rain in a short space of time, the pull-up area of the Racecourse has become too slippery and unfortunately our final two races of the day are abandoned.
“Despite the cancellation of racing, all bars will remain open and customers are welcome to continue enjoying the facilities until the scheduled gate closing time of 6:35pm.”
