The 33-year-old man was targeting Princess Catharina-Amalia, 22, and her sister Princess Alexia, 20.
Catharina-Amalia is the apparent heir to the throne while Alexia is the second in line.
The suspect was allegedly found with two axes engraved with chilling messages.
The words “Alexia”, Mossad” – Israel’s intelligence agency – and Siegel Heil, a verbal salute used by Nazis, the outlet reports.
He was also reported to have a handwritten note with the words “Amalia”, “Alexia” and “bloodbath”.
The suspect was arrested in The Hague in February, Dutch authorities said.
He will face an initial court hearing on Monday before a later court date.
A possible motive has not yet been revealed.

The princesses are the eldest two daughters of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and Queen Máxima, 54.
They also have a younger sister, 19-year-old Princess Ariane.
Princess Catharina-Amalia has been the target of viscous threats before.
She was forced into hiding in 2020 after a man sent a slew of sick messages.
The messages threatened the young princess with rape and violence.
And two years later she was forced to flee her student accommodation in Amsterdam.
She was moved back into the heavily-guarded royal palace in The Hague.
At the time Queen Máxima said the threats had “enormous consequences to her life”.

“She can’t live in Amsterdam and she can’t really go outside [the palace]. It has enormous consequences on her life.”
The princess bolted to Spain where she lived in Madrid for a year over fears she would be kidnapped by drug cartels.
Cops had discovered her name listed in intercepted communications between gang members.
Princess Catharina-Amalia, known as the Princess of Orange, returned to the Netherlands in 2024.
Strict measures have been taken to protect her safety.
But after returning home she said she missed her “normal life, walking the streets and going to a store – the life of a student”.
