A 15-YEAR-OLD girl stumbled into class and told her teacher “Sir, I’ve been stabbed” after she was knifed in the back at school, a court heard.

A boy, who was aged 15 at the time, is on trial accused of her attempted murder at Thorpe St Andrew School near Norwich, on March 11.

The teenager – who is now 16 and, along with his alleged victim, can’t be identified for legal reasons – went to the mixed secondary school for 11-18-year-olds with the knife on March 11 this year, King’s Lynn Crown Court heard.

The girl – then aged 15 – told in a video-recorded interview played to jurors on Thursday that she had seen a masked person dressed “head to toe in black, no school uniform on whatsoever”.

The attack, in a corridor in the morning, was captured by CCTV at the school, the heard.

The girl said she turned away and it “felt like he touched me on the shoulder, then it felt like he punched me”.

She said she “didn’t know I was stabbed at this point” but she “started running”.

Meanwhile, jurors were told the boy did not say anything to her and she did not recognise him.

The teenager said she was “struggling because everything was going numb and feeling weak” as she attempted to open a door.

The girl then fled into a classroom and “I went ‘Sir, I’ve been stabbed'”.

The girl said the school lockdown bell went off and staff gave first aid.

Of the incident itself, she said that once she had opened the door, “I felt sharp pain shooting through my back, I went like that and it was blood all over my hands”.

She said in the interview, carried out days after the incident: “I don’t think it’s hit me properly yet. It’s just a bit of a shock.”

Asked if she had had any issues with anyone at school, she replied: “No.”

She said that when she first saw the person dressed in black, “he had his hands in his pockets and he was just standing there”.

He was wearing a black mask and had his hood “over his forehead”.

She said she had looked at him and did not “think much of it”, but when she turned away she was attacked.

“It felt like he punched me. I thought he was about to keep throwing punches,” she said.

Stephen Rose KC, defending, asked the girl, who came to court to give evidence, whether she had had any issues with the boy and she said she had not.

She wiped tears from her eyes and asked for a break during her evidence.

Another female pupil at the school, who witnessed the attack, said in a video-recorded police interview that the boy “came up behind (the girl) and just stabbed her in the back near her shoulder”.

She said she “didn’t think he realised I was there until after he did it”, and that she ran off and told a teacher.

“After he stabbed her she said ‘what the f***’, I don’t think she realised she had been stabbed,” she said.

Asked at what point she had first seen the knife, she said “as he raised it”.

Christopher Paxton KC, opening the prosecution case, said yesterday the boy was arrested by police and “remained silent” in interview.

Today, he revealed the boy had written notes including about his “hatred for women” and had an interest in serial killers.

Mr Paxton said one note, pinned up in the boy’s bedroom, said: “My barren world… Hello to all readers out there in the UK and perhaps even the world. If you’re reading this, I am either dead or in custody.

“I imagine the police will be the first to read this and seize it as evidence, so I will make something very clear.

“I made this decision to do so on my own. Nobody told me to. Just me.

“Nobody knew I wanted to do this. Not a single soul.”

In another note, Mr Paxton said the boy wrote: “My whole life I’ve felt an attraction to violence.

“I don’t know the reason. My brain clicks at the thought of chaos. Of blood. Of murder.”

The note continued: “I’ve seen killers being admired. I want admiration.”

Mr Paxton told jurors: “We the prosecution say his intention is made plain not just by those moments of the stabbing, but made plain by his notes and his obsession with killing and being fuelled by hatred.”

The boy denies attempted murder and the trial continues.
