GERWYN PRICE experienced his most disappointing World Championship exit in seven years, as he was defeated in just 22 minutes by the world No. 92.
The Iceman – who operates a fish and chip shop in his hometown – was overwhelmed 3-0 in the second round by the relatively unknown Wesley Plaisier, marking the biggest upset thus far in the PDC World Darts Championship.

It was the first time since December 2018 that he had exited the tournament at such an early stage.
This also marks the first occasion in a decade that the former world champion has been defeated without winning a single set on the Ally Pally stage.
This outcome presents a significant challenge for PDC officials as they consider whether to include him in next year's Premier League.
While he is a crowd favorite and adds excitement to the event – along with some playful boos – he may not have performed well enough this year to warrant selection.
Price, 40, had previously stated after the first round that winning the £1 million title would not significantly alter his financial situation, but that is no longer a concern.
The towering Dutchman Plaisier – contrasting sharply in size and fitness with the muscular Price – made his intentions clear by starting with a 130 finish on the bullseye.
Plaisier, who walks to the oche to the tune of “Angels” by Robbie Williams, appeared composed with a 2-0 lead in sets and subsequently secured his advancement in the third set with a double 10 on his third match dart.
A stunned Plaisier remarked: “I can’t believe this. This is my biggest victory ever.
“I don’t know how I accomplished it. I was incredibly nervous and so thrilled to cross the finish line.
“This is so special. I thought I would give him a tough match, but I never expected to win. I am absolutely delighted.”
Having now created a significant upset in the top half of the draw, Plaisier, 35, will be optimistic about his chances against Polish player Krzysztof Ratajski in the third round after Christmas.
