RUTH Jones looked a far cry from her Gavin and Stacey alter-ego Nessa in an Instagram post over the weekend.
The star, 59, posted a selfie from the set of her new comedy, which wrapped filming on Saturday.
In the snap, Ruth posed alongside co-writer and co-star Steve Speirs.

Ruth showcased a grey bob – very different to the jet black do her beloved character Nessa used to model in .
Posing in a silky olive blouse next to Upstart Crow actor Steve, Ruth shot a video of the pair as they marked the end of filming.
“Well, I have just wrapped, and so have you, on the first series of Better Later,” she told fans.
“I have now – technically got a few more things to do, a few lines off, but there we are,” Steve added.

“Aww, it’s been lush, hasn’t it?” Ruth gushed.
“It’s also aged us. I mean, I’m now bald and you’re grey. And considering we’re 31 and 32,” joked Steve.
Ruth captioned the post: “Our final slate and our final day. It’s been gorgeous. Life is Better Later.”
Her caption refers to the name of the comedy – Better Later – which is an upcoming six-part comedy series .
The show follows Clive, a widowed retired teacher, and Shelley Anne, an environmental officer, who strike up an unlikely friendship as Shelley Anne goes through a bitter .
In the show, the duo hit it off while both attending appointments at a knee trauma clinic.
The plot follows the pair as they explore second chances in their lives, and embrace the fact that they’re over 50.
Ruth and Steve have shot the comedy in and around South , including in the Brecon Beacons, with the action taking place in a fictional Welsh village called Brynfach.
Elsewhere, Ruth’s former Gavin and Stacey co-star Joanna Page is being tipped to appear in this year’s !
A source told that she is in “advanced talks” to enter the jungle this November, and that “all signs are looking positive”.
“She’s a huge BBC star and it would be a coup if can get her to sign her contract and put her front and centre on their biggest entertainment show,” the insider said. “She has confided in friends that she’s really keen to take part and wants to go on and make her children proud.”
