GARY LINEKER has revealed that he almost broke a key rule during his ITV appearance on Saturday.

With a smirk, he opened the programme and said: “Thank you very much for joining us on ITV for this one.
“Another day, another game, another channel…”
then cut in to joke: “Woah, woah, woah – Gary! That’s my job!”
quipped: “Sorry, old habits!”
The shock appearance was well-received by fans, who were stunned to see Lineker on a rival broadcaster following his 26-year spell on BBC Sport.
But while reflecting on the cameo, the icon admitted that he nearly swore live on air.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Rest is Football – during which guests are allowed to swear – he said: “I nearly dropped the f-bomb on ITV today. I was so close to it. We get used to it – you [Joe Cole] swore there.
“There was a point where I was live and I went ‘ffff’ and just held it back. I sucked it in!
“I’m nearly 30 years of television or whatever it was, so you know not to do it ever but doing this show and the fact we swear a little bit, I was so close and just pulled it back!”
Lineker, and are allowed to swear on The Rest is Football because it is streamed on Netflix and not a UK broadcaster.
The TV studio is and the main backdrop of the show resembles a loft apartment with views of the iconic Times Square.
