The two-time world champion asserts that he has already paid his dues in the major event and has no interest in going through that experience again.

When asked if he was invited to compete, he told Premier Darts: “No, which I was disappointed about because I wanted to say no.”

“I believe they understood my situation. They kept inquiring, but I’m satisfied with what I’m doing now.”

“I’ve done it. I’ve earned the title. It’s fantastic, hard work.”

“However, with me currently ranked No. 6 in the world, I want to keep striving for the next five years.”

“I still wish to participate in the ProTours and the European events. I’ve begun to enjoy the European tournaments — I know I’ve had a lengthy break from them.”

“I’ve enjoyed the ones I can easily attend. You know, it’s just one flight, maybe a taxi and a train — that’s manageable.”

“It’s when I have to take two flights, endure a three-hour train ride, and then a half-hour taxi — no thank you.”

“Some of the venues are located in remote areas.”

“If you're in the event, you need to arrive by Wednesday and play on Thursday. On Friday, you have to fly off to Germany or wherever, then compete Saturday and Sunday.”

“Back on Monday, and then on Tuesday you’re home packing and preparing for Wednesday again.”

“Don’t get me wrong, the earnings are good, but it just cancels itself out, doesn’t it?”

Anderson had an impressive last season, winning the European Darts Grand Prix and the Players Championship Seven.

The Musselburgh player also reached the semi-finals of the World Championship.
