Ganduje: No cause for alarm, APC intact – Chieftain

Published on June 30, 2025 at 12:55 PM

A former two-term Lagos lawmaker, Mr Olusegun Olulade, says opposition parties should not rejoice over the resignation of APC National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje.

Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos, Olulade said Ganduje’s resignation was not an indication that the ruling party was in crisis.

He said the former party chairman resigned based on health grounds and urged opposition leaders to stop reading negative meanings to the development.

Olulade, Executive Director at Galaxy Backbone Limited, said the party remained strong and was confident of defeating all opponents in 2027.

“There is nothing to be afraid of; our party is getting stronger and sailing to victory in 2027.There is no crisis in the party.

“Ganduje has come out to say his resignation was on the health grounds. He is not fighting, there is no crisis in APC; our party is strong.

“There is nothing to worry about, in fact we are comfortable as a party, we are good, we are sailing on top in APC, we are not worried,”; Olulade said.

Wishing Ganduje well in future endeavours, Olulade said that the former ruling party chairman had written his name in gold by the bold step.

“It is rare in politics that someone will resign on health grounds. Ganduje has written his name in gold for taking that commendable decision.

“The party has been growing in leaps and bounds and getting stronger. In fact, it is the opposition that is afraid now.

“We don’t have any reason to panic. The party remains strong despite Ganduje’s resignation,”; Olulade said.
