The stench from the unrefrigerated bodies, which included children and babies, finally gave them away at their Return to Nature Funeral Home.

The pair, of Penrose, , , who charged around £900 per customer, admitted corpse abuse in December last year.

Cash they were paid to cremate the bodies went on two SUVs, designer jewellery, and laser body sculpting.

Instead of ashes, they gave grieving families concrete powder, it is believed.

Hallford apologised before sentence, saying: “My mistakes will echo for a generation.”

Victim Kelly Mackeen said: “My mother was dumped in a site left to rot with hundreds of others.”

Jailing Hallford in a Colorado Springs court, Judge Eric Bentley called his crimes “unspeakable”.

His wife, who also admits fraud, faces up to 35 years’ jail when sentenced in April.
