Information regarding the closure of 47 Federal Unity Colleges by the Federal Government due to the worsening security situation across the nation has come to light.

According to DAILY POST, the Federal Government, in a notice distributed to all principals of Unity Colleges by Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, Director of Secondary Education at the Office of the Minister of Education, has confirmed the closure of these colleges.

This action follows recent incidents in Kebbi and Niger states, where numerous schoolchildren were abducted.

The notice stated: “In response to the recent security issues in certain regions of the country and the necessity to avert any security breaches, the Honourable Minister of Education has sanctioned the immediate closure of 47 Federal Unity Colleges.”

Furthermore, the notice indicated that the closure is effective immediately.
