Fulham were denied the opening goal in bizarre circumstances after Daniel Peretz’s goal-kick struck the back of his own defender’s head.
The ball diverted to Rodrigo Muniz, who swept home, but referee Jarrad Gillet had already blown his whistle.
The decision proved costly for the hosts as Joachim Andersen brought down Finn Azaz in the box in the 89th minute.
Ross Stewart took the responsibility of the spot-kick and found the net to send Fulham crashing out.
