- Timing of the Protest
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Oba Maduabuchi, has stated that the FreeNnamdiKanu protest was poorly timed.
Maduabuchi made this remark on Tuesday during an interview on ‘Prime Time’, a program on Arise Television, which was monitored by DAILY POST.
“The issue surrounding Nnamdi Kanu is a very delicate one for us Igbo people. As an Igbo man, I would have preferred his release even yesterday, because they consider him a freedom fighter.
“However, as a lawyer, once you have submitted your case, you can no longer resort to self-help. What is happening now is merely self-help, which is prohibited by law.
“I believe the protest is entirely miscalculated. The Federal Government has already concluded its case.
“The matter is currently before the court, and the protest is urging the federal government to intervene and instruct a judge to release Nnamdi Kanu,” he remarked.
