Former Speaker, Jigawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Isah Idris and serving member representing Gwaram Constituency has resigned his membership from the ruling All progressives Congress, APC.
Hon. Isah stated this in his letter of resignation which he signed and addressed to Gwaram ward chairman.
According to the letter, βI wish to write and formally inform you about my decision to resign my membership from the All progressives Congress, APC.
βAs a former Speaker and founding member of the party, I hope the APC would uphold the principles and ideals it was formed.
βIn view of this, I strongly believe it is the proper time for me step aside.β
His resignation may not be unconnected with the recent screening of APC aspirants in which the member was screened out and replaced with Ado Yakubu Zandam.
The member has not officially announced his party interst, but findings have revealed that he may soon join the ADC or the PDP.
A statement posted by PDP Publicity Secretary, Umar Kyari Jitau, welcomes the member into the party.
