The Federal Fire Service, FFS, Taraba State Command, on Monday swiftly contained a fire outbreak at a warehouse in Jalingo, saving property estimated at about N800 million.
The incident, which occurred at about 2:33 p.m. on Saurara Street in the Waterboard area of Jalingo, affected a Rubber and Stanley warehouse belonging to Alhaji Faraβu.
In a statement signed by the FFS spokesperson, Sylvanus Mukailu, preliminary investigations, they said, indicated that the blaze was caused by an electrical surge.
According to the Taraba Command, the distress call was received from ASF Buhari Umar, prompting the immediate mobilization of firefighting personnel under the leadership of the Acting State Controller, ACF Yakubu Samson Dungus.
βThe response team, led by Operational Commander ASF Safuwan Bala and his deputy, ASF Feke Dungus, arrived promptly at the scene and carried out a rapid assessment before launching an aggressive fire suppression operation.

The coordinated effort successfully contained and extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures and averting what officials described as potentially extensive damage.
