Argentina icon, Lionel Messi, shared a touching message with the U-20 team following their defeat to Morocco in the final of this year's U-20 World Cup.

The Albiceleste are the reigning champions at the senior level and had aspirations to secure another title at the youth level.

Messi himself claimed the FIFA World Youth Championship in 2005.

Nonetheless, Morocco clinched the 2025 title, thanks to a double from Yassir Zabrini.

Zabrini found the net in the 12th and 29th minutes of the final, making Morocco the first African nation to win the U-20 title since Ghana in 2009.

Messi expressed on Instagram: “Keep your heads up, boys!!!! You had an amazing tournament, and even though we all wished to see you lift the trophy, we are filled with joy for everything you gave us and pride in how you represented the sky blue and white with your hearts.”
