The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Offa chapter, has accused the institution's management of betraying their trust.

The chapter's Chairman, Dr. Idowu Atilola, in response to the management's stance regarding the ongoing disagreement between the two parties over several issues, stated that the management is either not being thorough or is acting in a regrettably deceitful manner.

“The Governing Council, Rector, Registrar, Deans, and Directors entered into a written agreement with the union, and the justification being presented is that the management has chosen to backtrack on this agreement.

“The management has betrayed the union and has also failed to uphold public trust by misappropriating funds intended for staff, and it is the union's responsibility to address this issue.

“It is also crucial to inform members that the management has not retracted the invitations extended to union members within the designated time frame, leaving us no option but to proceed.

“We will not retreat, we will not surrender; we are ASUP,” declared the union.

Attempts to contact the institution's spokesman, Iroye Yinka, on Wednesday were unsuccessful, as his phone was unreachable, and a text message sent to him had not received a response by the time of this report.
