The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday saud he’s afraid of variations in the cost of projects when they are awarded for a long term.

‎He spoke during the flag-off of the construction of Arterial Road N20 (Solomon Lar way) from Road N5 (Obafemi Awolowo way) to the Airport Expressway (AEW).

Wike said: “We require your cooperation and with your cooperation the company may finish this road before the time they were given.

“‎I’m always afraid when projects are awarded for two years, three years, I’m always afraid because I don’t like variation.

“‎We will sit down again to reconsider and make sure that the available funds are released so that you don’t give excuses. By the time this road is completed, this N20- starting from N5, of course, everybody will know.”

Wike also disclosed that the 16 days earmarked for the commissioning of projects has shown the level of jobs created for youths of the capital city.

“‎If we are using 16 days to flag off projects of different categories, guess the number of persons that are engaged in these projects. 16 days means 16 companies involved with these projects.

“‎I want to thank Mr. President and also want to thank the Area Council Chairman for their support, for their support to Mr. President and this administration, I urge you to continue,” he added.
