The Association of Resident Doctors in the Federal Capital Territory Administration has praised the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, for addressing the union's requests.

The President of ARD-FCTA, Dr. George Ebong, expressed his appreciation during an outreach event at the Durumi Area 1 Internally Displaced Persons Camp.

He noted that despite the numerous challenges faced by doctors in the FCT, the minister has made progress in fulfilling some of their requests and urged the FCTA to promptly address the remaining issues.

Ebong stated that the association is dedicated to offering free healthcare services to IDPs, emphasizing that their primary mission is to save lives.

“We decided to visit the IDP camp with some medications, which is the reason for our presence here.

“We will continue to do this, and we hope to have a significant positive impact on our community.

“We aimed to explore how we can enhance the lives of our people through medical care and other support.

“Indeed, we face challenges. As doctors, you are aware of our requests, and I will advocate for them. However, for now, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Minister Nyesom Wike for approving the majority of our requests.

“We appreciate every step taken to implement our demands. While there are still some outstanding issues, we trust that the Minister will address them,” he conveyed to DAILY POST in an interview.

It is important to note that FCT doctors have previously engaged in multiple strike actions to emphasize their demands, including the need for improved welfare.

Recently, there are still pending issues regarding the full implementation of outstanding demands by the FCTA.
