The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has declared that his friends do not need to rig the upcoming Area Council elections in the nation’s capital.
Wike said his good works will do the rigging because the opposition has nothing with which to campaign.
He made this statement on Tuesday during the commissioning of the newly constructed road linking Idu to Zuba.
The road was commissioned to mark President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office.
It was commissioned by the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, who represented President Tinubu.
However, Wike urged his allies in the FCT Council elections to use his achievements as a campaign tool to canvass for votes.
He said: “For those who want to run elections in the Area councils, I don’t know what they will preach to the people.
“But for those who are with us, they have the opportunity to tell people what we have done, so people should not waste their money.
“The result is the rigging by what we have shown. So, not when you fail, you say you were rigged, look at the rigging, the project is the rigging.
“When you provide what the people want, everything is gone, so those of you that are my friends, we will come out and tell the people to look at the roads, bus terminals, schools.”;
