Jordan Thompson took his anger out on a bottle as his side lost 2-0 to .
referee expert Dermot Gallagher has condemned the midfielder.
He said: “He’s lucky it didn’t get seen because it would be a red card on the day without doubt.
“It’s just so dangerous.”
The former referee was convinced that the 29-year-old would have been shown red after the incident.
It happened after he was subbed off in the 65th minute – with his team two down.
Preston have just one win in 12 matches – losing their last four in a row.
The Lancashire outfit have not won an away match for over two months.
This has seen them fall down the table at a rapid rate.
They were play-off contenders for most of the first half of the season.
The Lilywhites sat in 6th place in the Championship on New Year’s Day.
However a shocking run of results has left them in a lowly 17th.
