There’s not a day that goes by that the social media star isn’t on his phone speaking to his myriad of contacts.

He has millions of followers on social media, relationships with the biggest names in the sport and, in the eyes of many fans, the title as the “king of the ITKs”.

At this stage of his life, however, the 33-year-old is yearning for something more than global popularity.

He’s longing to find someone to spend the rest of his life with, something he’d trade all his followers for in a heartbeat.

When asked by if he’d swap his legion of fans for “one stable relationship”, he replied : “Yes.

“Because you can get 10 million followers in the next year or so. But a girlfriend is not easy at all.”

When pressed on what type of relationship he’s after, he replied: “Permanent term, of course. Long term.

“No, no for sure. I already had [my] fun, it’s okay.”

Romano chose to stay a single Pringle while he attempted to crawl his way to the top of the transfer news game.

And he admits the nature of his job, which requires him to be on his phone for most of the day, is a potential deal-breaker for prospective partners.

“There are certainly many problems,” he said. “Many difficult schedules.

“But more than schedules, it is a above all the management of the telephone.

“You know, maybe if you are there at dinner and there is news. But it’s my own wish.”

Romano has had girlfriends in the past, all of whom knew the demands of his transfer-heavy job.

And he’ll never forget the bit of news which stopped an “intimate moment” with an old flame.

He said: “I’ll remember at Tottenham for the rest of my life.

“It happened like this: It was like 1 a.m – Reguilon was supposed to go to , but then he went later.

“And everyone was asking, ‘Where is Reguilon going?’

“And then they were saying ‘United,’ ‘Tottenham,’ ‘United.’

“But everyone was convinced he was going to United.

“He called me at 1:40 to give me the official answer, and I said, ‘Wait a minute, because unfortunately the call is important!’

“I had to wait a second… but at least the news was true!”

Romano’s pursuit of love has been secondary to his bid to become the leading name in the transfer news game.

But if he channels even half the energy he has for breaking news into finding a other half, it won’t be long before he’s saying “HERE WE GO” at the altar.
