AN EXPLOSION has rocked a Jewish school in Amsterdam in a “targeted attack”.

The terrifying blast caused limited damage to the building in the south of the Dutch capital in a “cowardly act of aggression”, the local mayor said.

The Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Rights claimed responsibility for the attack – before posting a suspected clip of the explosion.

The chilling footage – being probed by local cops – showed a suspect placing the device and lighting it before it blew up.

Police confirmed there is CCTV footage of the suspect which is currently being investigated.

No injuries were reported – with emergency services quickly scrambling to the scene.

Femke Halseme, the city’s mayor, said: “This is a cowardly act of aggression against the Jewish community.

“Jewish people in Amsterdam are increasingly confronted with antisemitism. This is unacceptable.”

It comes after a spate of antisemitic attacks across Europe over the last few days.

The Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Rights alleged they were behind four attacks over the last week.

Fires and explosions have been reported at synagogues in Rotterdam and in Liege, Belgium, in recent days.

Security at Jewish-linked institutions had been on high alert over the last week as a result of the recent wave.
