COPS have launched an urgent investigation after an 11-month-old baby boy died.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene in the Deneside area of Seaham, County , at around 8.45am on Thursday.
Durham confirmed the 11-month-old boy had tragically died.
The force said officers were “investigating the circumstances of the incident”.
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) said it dispatched two ambulance crews, a specialist paramedic and a duty officer to the scene.
The ambulance service also requested support from the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 8.36am on Thursday 12 March to reports of an incident at a private address in Seaham.
“We dispatched two ambulance crews, a specialist paramedic, and a duty officer to the scene, and requested support from our colleagues at the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).”
