CAMPING fans could soon ditch their rickety old tents for an unexpected mini home that attaches to their car.

Once unfolded it turns into a pretty spacious pod.
It expands more than three times its packed size.
On each side, there are two bedrooms which are opened out simply by dropping a wall.
This enables it to automatically pitch the integrated tent frame as it is moved down.
These are sheltered with two windows to catch the night views.
In the middle, there is space for basic chilled kitchen facilities with a fridge but no oven.

The concept is known as Wingcube, devised by inventor Paul Schulz.
He told New Atlas that he’s still working on a more detailed design with hopes of building a full scale prototype.
He aims to complete building one by the end of this year.
As it’s just a concept for now we don’t have an idea of how much it might cost if it’s ever made available to buy.
