Former Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea is assured a warm Old Trafford reception when he returns for the first time as a player with Fiorentina on Saturday.

The Red Devils stated this in a post via their website on Tuesday.

De Gea departed Old Trafford in 2023 after a 12-year stint with the Premier League club.

The Spaniard joined Fiorentina, who provide the opposition for Man United’s final pre-season game of 2025/26.

De Gea was signed by Man United in 2011 from Atletico Madrid to take on the daunting task of filling Edwin van der Sar’s gloves.

He grew to become similarly renowned for his immense shot-stopping ability and quick reactions.

De Gea was a popular figure during his time in Manchester.
