Ex-Environment Minister Abdullahi resigns from APC over personal reasons

Published on June 01, 2025 at 08:00 PM

Former Minister of Environment, Barrister Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, has resigned his membership from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Abdullahi announced his decision in a letter dated June 1 and addressed to the APC chairman of his Uke ward in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The letter, which was also copied to other party officials, cited “personal reasons”; as the basis for his resignation.

He expressed his gratitude to the chairman and other party leaders for their support during his time in APC, where he said they collectively made “modest contributions in building the party”; in Nasarawa State.

“I wish you and the party good luck,”; Abdullahi stated in the letter.

Though Abdullahi did not provide further details regarding his future political plans, he had earlier accepted calls to contest the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship election, citing the need to respond to “contemporary realities.”;
