Former Newcastle United striker, Alan Shearer, has predicted the outcome of the Europa League final between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
He believes that Spurs will beat the Red Devils to lift the trophy at the Athletic Bilbao Stadium on Wednesday.
Manchester United will lock horns with Tottenham on Wednesday for a chance to win the Europa League.
Tottenham who are a two-time Europa League winner, will be ended in 2024-25 Premier league season on 17th position but could still qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking to the Rest is Football podcast, the former Newcastle United man said that Spurs are in the best position to win the Europa League final at San Mames in Bilbao.
“Who would you say are favourites? Tottenham because of their record against Manchester United this season? He said.
The two teams, as Shearer acknowledged, have been very poor this season in the Premier League.
“My prediction is 2-2 or 3-3 after extra-time and Tottenham to win on penalties,”;; he added.
To reach this stage, Spurs beat Bodo/Glimt in the semi-finals, while Manchester United defeated Lyon.
This season, Spurs have beaten United 3-0 and 1-0 in the league and beat them 4-3 in the EFL Cup quarter-finals this season.
